Y Thrust into Gaia a dying world filled with magic she meets Alex the mysterious yet familiar talking tiger who came to assist her on her journey In order to save the world and get back home they must travel through the kingdom of Burkhar. Giveaway ebookIn retrospect I should've looked to see if there was an age rating because this felt as if it was written for 6 year olds Keeping this in mind I tried to ignore all the problems and still read it so I could review it as promised In fact tarot cards have always been something close to my heart and also part of The Raven Cycle so I was thrilled for books with tarot cards in there Instead I created a DNF shelf just for this one because by chapter 5 I couldn't bear it any longer Stars for•maybe interesting for children or people with nothing better to do •interesting concept of collecting tarot cards but the plot needs developing A summary of my suffering•in five chapters the author used the word said less than a handful of times it's not a scary word•the narrative was dry and dull and went on and on giving information we didn't need at all•the characters were one dimensional and boring•she seems to be collecting tarot cards for no reason that I can discern •she seems to be almost completely unfazed by the fact that her house is not where it was before and there's a talking tiger•then her only thought is that she hasn't had breakfast because that's exactly what we would all be thinking in this situation right•the main character seemed to figure out most riddles instantly and is probably the most boring person ever It's like she had no flaws None Just perfect little Clara trying to collect tarot cards whilst being a perfect human beingIn conclusion this book could've been another Alice in Wonderland that I'd read until I was old and grey but instead I couldn't get past how basic it is Might be good for little children but not worth your time after that

READ The Tarot Cards

The Tarot CardsT solving puzzles and braving the trials of the cards It's not just the trials she has to worry about though Others want the cards magical power and they'll stop at nothing to get itHow far would you go to save a world that isn't your own. Okay so just finished this one While I don't think their style of writing is for everyone I found it and their characters charming It doesn't go overboard on the details but there was definitely enough for me to uickly paint a pictureIt was very much a pull you along type adventure But it felt like that's what it was supposed to be The main character is being led around by the cards because they want a new master So it makes sense how things went aboutClara herself is different She's spunky but freaks out a lot having to calm herself down She takes everything in stride and tries to use her uirkysilly side to try and make herself comfortable Really there's only so much you can do if you're teleported to a random place freaking out for too long wouldn't do any good I think she is accepting by natureWell if you're not picky about an authors choice of style there is an interesting uniue story behind it all

I really enjoyed the concept behind this book Clara is a teenager who is drawn into a magical uest when an enchanted tarot card falls into her hands Turns out she has been chosen to collect the rest of the tarot deck in order to save a dying world The first being she meets in the new world is a talking tiger and the adventures just get stranger from there The book plays out a bit like a video game in that each chapter involves a new task to overcome in order to earn a card and move forward on the uest It was interesting to see how the author interpreted each tarot card and what Clara needed to do in order to prove herself worthy of receiving the card The overarching message was one of self sacrifice service and concern for others which was heartwarming The writing style is a little simple for my tastes seemingly aimed at a younger audience but each chapter begins with a charming drawing of the tarot card being pursued I could see the authorartist turning this into uite a successful graphic novel if the action was depicted in pictures rather than just described Overall a very intriguing concept with a strong female lead and some very positive messages
